began her college career as a nursing major. Only one year into her
academic progress, Krista realized her passion for art and made an
academic and personal switch to the Fine Arts College.
After making the bold decision to pursue a visual arts degree, Krista
quickly obtained her Bachelor of Arts in May 2003. Today the artist
makes her home in Austin, Texas, where she works diligently to create
unique and experimental pieces that command inspiration. Her talent and
artistic interest range in all different kinds of media, from
photography to mosaics, to watercolor and them some.
She constantly seeks to create new types of art and is always
envisioning new ways to work with the most uncommon materials in a
recyclable manner. Krista is strongly influenced by nature and spends
a significant amount of time in the outdoors. Her passion for water and
free spaces is represented throughout much of her work. Her bold style
ranges from simplistic black and white to a carnival of colors that fuse
together and then bounce off the page with emotion.
Krista draws influence and inspiration from the brilliant colors and
themes of such artist as Vincent Van Gogh and many other Impressionist
and Post-Impressionist artists. Ludwig Kirchner, the German painter, is
another inspiring artist that has shaped Krista’s views and styles.
